Personal information, including email address, is NOT shared with any third party, unless your permission was explicitly given for that purpose or you give implicit permission. For example, if you publicise an event through the GREN site and add your name or contact details in that publicity, then we will automatically distribute the information as supplied through the network. If you did not add contact detils within the publicity, then nothing is disclosed through GREN since our mailings go out under your username only.
The GREN membership form requires users to supply their email address and contact details and also to decide what materials they wish to receive through the site. We use the email address to send the password, which allows the user to log in giving access to the discussion forum and other private areas. We may also contact you in the future about your use of the site. We use the contact details to verify that you are eligible for GREN membership, which is open to people who live or work in the Reading area. You can change your contact details and preferences at any time by logging into the site. Your information is not shown to other members of GREN, but is accessible by the superusers, appointed by the committee, and including the website manager, secretary and Chair.
Information on locla groups is visible to anyone looking at the site and includes contact information if this was requested at the time of joining GREN. this may be changed at any time by contacting secretary@gren.org.uk

We may also block any user who we have reason to believe has registered with the intention to misuse the site.
